Skopje, 5 August 2024 (MIA) — A total of 29 wildfires were reported Sunday, and five of them are still spreading near Makedonski Brod, Demir Hisar, Gevgelija, Studenichani and Probishtip, according to the Crisis Management Center.

Firefighters have put under control the three Ohrid region fires near the villages of Kosel, Rasino, Openica, and Vapila; in the village of Pogana near the Bogdanci wind park; and in the Plasnica village of Latovo.

The 21 wildfires that were completely extinguished were burning near various villages in the municipalities of Radovish, Kochani, Bosilovo, Sveti Nikole, Makedonska Kamenica, Bitola, Prilep, Lipkovo, Kichevo, Gostivar, Cheshinovo-Obleshevo, Kumanovo and Skopje.

In the Skopje region, there were fires near the village of Studenichani in the municipality of Studenichani and in the villages of Rashtak and Bulachani in the municipality of Gazi Baba. mr/
