Cinematheque to screen three films with Marlon Brando on centenary of his birth

Skopje, 17 June 2024 (MIA) - The Cinematheque of North Macedonia will be screening three films with Marlon Brando on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday (June 22) to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the American actor and activist.

The films will be shown in their original format of 35-mm film, as at the time of their premieres. 

The screening will start Monday evening with the 1952 film “Viva Zapata!” by Elia Kazan. The 1969 film "Burn!"(Queimada) by Gillo Pontecorvo will be shown on Tuesday, and the 1966 film "The Appaloosa" (Southwest to Sonora) by Sidney J. Furie will be screened on Saturday. 

"American hunter, British mercenary or Mexican revolutionary – whatever the role, the acting legend Marlon Brando dominates the screen. His specific, artistic skill always fascinates the film audience," said the Cinematheque.
