Skopje, 22 October 2024 (MIA) -- The average monthly net salary paid per employee in August 2024 was 41,097 denars, which is 12.9 percent higher than in August 2023, according to the latest figures released by the State Statistical Office.

According to the SSO press release, the increase is due to higher average monthly net salaries in the sectors: Education (19.1%); Financial and Insurance Activities (18.6%); and Public Administration and Defense, Compulsory Social Security (16.7%).

Compared to July, higher August paychecks were given to workers in the sectors: Arts, Entertainment and Recreation (5.3%); Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (4.2%); and Accommodation and Food Service Activities (3.2%).

The average monthly gross salary paid per employee in August 2024 was 61,806 denars, which is 13.2 percent higher than in August 2023, the SSO release said. mr/
