Skopje, 26 May 2023 (MIA) — The Philharmonic and the National Opera and Ballet choir will perform Guiseppe Verdi's "Requiem" at the 51st May Opera Evenings festival at 8 pm.

"Verdi's 'Requiem' is one of the most powerful, most dramatic works in the history of classical music. This work is a wonderful fusion of opera, drama, symphony, exciting virtuosic solos, joy and happiness, pathos and grief," May Opera Evenings organizers write.

The orchestra is conducted by Emil Tabakov from Bulgaria. The concertmaster is Vladimir Kostov and the choirmaster is Gjurgjica Dashikj.

The soloists are Besa Llugiqi, soprano (Kosovo), Sanja Anastasia, mezzo-soprano (Serbia), Nikola Kitanovski, tenor, and Igor Durlovski, bass. mr/
