4th Beach Film Festival to screen European films for free
Skopje, 20 July 2021 (MIA) — Five feature films and 14 shorts will be screened during the fourth Beach Film Festival of New European Film in Ohrid from July 21 to 25. The selection includes the German-Italian-Danish thriller "Human Factors" (2021), Greek family drama "Moon, 66 Questions" (2020), French romantic comedy "Sexfish" (2019), and Yugoslav partisan movie "The Only Way Out" (1958). The screenings are free. Movies will be shown at the Gorica 3 beach, the Armada ship, and the Lapidarium Cultural Center. Some of the films were previously screened at the Cannes, Venice, Sundance, and Berlinale film festivals. The festival will traditionally close with a screening of a Macedonian film. This year, the film is Igor Ivanov-Izi’s "Homo" (2020). Organizers also invite filmgoers to register for the European Film Challenge, a digital platform aimed at promoting European cinema, at https://europeanfilmchallenge.eu/mk and collect points for every film seen at the Beach Film Festival. The European Film Challenge project is implemented in North Macedonia by the Blink 42-21 Center for Social Innovation together with partners in nine European countries with funds from the EU's Creative Europe Media program. Beach Film Festival is made possible by the support of the Film Agency, the Municipality of Ohrid, and the Lapidarium Cultural Center. mr/
