21st Cinedays festival closes with premiere of Goran Stolevski's You Won't Be Alone
Skopje, 15 July 2022 (MIA) - The Macedonian premiere of You Won't Be Alone by Australian-Macedonian film director Goran Stolevski, and an awards ceremony held Thursday evening closed the 21st Cinedays International Festival of European Film. The festival began on July 7 with the premiere of Mimi, a Macedonian feature film directed by Darjan Pejovski starring Natalija Teodosievska. This year's festival brought together more than 15,000 fans of European cinema at unique venues for film screenings across Skopje. Fifty films were shown, including films screened at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. Margarita Arsova, Cineday coordinator, says the organizers are satisfied with this year's edition adding preparations for the 22nd edition start right away. Awards in two festival programs, namely official selection and SEE (South Eastern Europa) selection were handed out at the closing ceremony. In the official selection, the Golden Star Award went to Peter Kerekes's 107 Mothers and Orchestra by Mateusz Luzar won the Silver Star. The Blue Star for best script was awarded to Aleksandra Terpinska for Other People. Nalalija Teodosievska for her role in Darijan Pejovski's Mimi won a special recognition. Also, Ivan Bakrac for After The Winter was awarded special recognition as part of the SEE (South Eastern Europa). Vera Dreams of the Sea by Kaltrina Krasniqi won the Golden Sun for best film.
