2024 Clarifest clarinet festival begins at Salon 19:19

Skopje, 5 April 2024 (MIA) — The sixth Clarifest International Clarinet Festival will open at the Cultural and Information Center's Salon 19:19 with a concert by student musicians and run through April 7.

 

According to organizers, attendees of this year's festival include renowned clarinet professors and clarinetists Barbara Borowicz, who teaches at the Music Academy in Krakow, Poland, and Wesley Ferreira, who teaches at the Colorado State University's School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, Colorado, USA.

 

Following two days of clarinet seminars, the festival will offer a presentation of clarinets by the Henri Selmer Paris brand.

 

Clarifest 2024 will close with a chamber concert featuring Borowicz as soloist. She will be accompanied by Macedonian pianist Elena Atanasovska-Ivanovska and the Jâca duo of Wesley Ferreira on clarinet and Jaxon Williams on guitar. The concert will take place at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle for Independence.


The clarinet festival is organized by Artistiko Art and Culture Association with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Polish Embassy, and other sponsors. Admission to both concerts is free. mr/
