Minor earthquakes jolt Bitola and Ohrid regions

Skopje, 5 February 2026 (MIA) - A III-magnitude earthquake according to the European Macroseismic Scale jolted the Bitola and Ohrid regions on Wednesday at 11:10 pm, said the Seismological Observatory within the Skopje-based Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

The epicenter of the 3.7-magnitude earthquake was in Albania, 150 km southwest of Skopje.

Earlier in the evening, an earthquake of the same magnitude with epicenter in Greece, about 100 km southwest of Skopje, was recorded in Ohrid.
