Skopje, 2 April 2026 (MIA) - The Milling and Baking Industry Group alongside the Economic Chamber, the Macedonian Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia held a working meeting with Deputy Minister of Economy and Labour Marjan Risteski and State Market Inspectorate director Vlatko Stojkoski at the Economy Ministry on Thursday, concluding that bread and pastry prices are under control and have not increased in 99 percent of the country.
Representatives and members of the Milling and Baking Industry Group have decided that bread and pastry prices will not go up, i.e. will remain at the same level in the coming period, until the end of April, with ongoing monitoring and analysis of the situation in place.
"The Ministry of Economy and the Government have pledged to monitor the situation and find joint solutions together with the milling industry, in the event of a run-up in oil and fuel prices, so as to downplay the danger of price increases within this industry. In addition, the milling and baking industry calls on all media and political stakeholders in Macedonia not to use this complex situation with the bread and pastry prices to create panic and uncertainty among citizens, because this harms both citizens and companies," the chambers said in a press release.
