Skopje, 11 January 2022 (MIA) – Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi has extended his condolences to the European Parliament Secretary-General Klaus Welle regarding the death of EP President David Sassoli. "On behalf of the MPs of the Parliament of North Macedonia and me personally, I express my deepest condolences to the family, loved ones and colleagues of our dear colleague and friend David Sassoli. President Sassoli was a forward-thinking politician, dedicated to peace and equality, who was a strong supporter of the enlargement of the EU. His legacy includes creating a joint European family that will respond to the expectations of all European citizens. With sincere respect to his legacy, we express our grief alongside his family and colleagues from the European Parliament,” says Xhaferi in the note.
