Bozhinovska: Successful cooperation with KfW a precondition for implementation of key projects for stable energy system

Skopje, 20 March 2026 (MIA) – Ongoing energy projects and ways to enhance mutual cooperation in terms of sustainable energy were discussed Friday by Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, with Babette Stein von Kamienski, the new head of division for energy at Germany’s KfW Development Bank for Europe and the Caucasus.

Several key projects, funded by KfW, were discussed, including the second stage of the Bogdanci wind park and the energy projects in Bitola. These investments will strengthen the country’s energy independence, Bozhinovska’s office said.

KfW, Bozhinovska said in the meeting, is one of our most important partners that support key projects in the interests of the citizens.

KfW’s representatives reaffirmed the commitment to boosting mutual cooperation in energy transition, stressing the importance of accelerated transition toward renewable energy sources. They underlined their commitment to supporting the government in securing a safe and modern energy system and aligning with European standards.

“Modernization of energy infrastructure and regional connection will strengthen North Macedonia’s standing in regional and global context. To that end, cooperation with KfW is of great significance for us,” stated Bozhinovska.

The interlocutors concluded that cooperation will continue, mainly in investments in renewable energy sources and improving energy efficiency at national level.
