Wizz Air to launch route from Skopje to Salzburg as of Apr. 1, 2024

Skopje, 24 November 2023 (MIA) – Low-cost carrier Wizz Air plans to launch a new route from Skopje to Salzburg, with three weekly services to commence from April 1, 2024.

In September, the carrier launched operations to the Slovenian capital, with Luxembourg to follow next month. Flights to Stuttgart are yet to be scheduled.

Wizz Air previously operated between Skopje and Salzburg. The service commenced in the summer of 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic but was discontinued after just one flight as Austria banned entry from a number of countries in the Balkans, including North Macedonia.

At 'Skopje International Airport,' during the winter flight schedule, air traffic will be conducted on 39 routes, and four at 'St. Paul the Apostle-Ohrid Airport.'

During the period January-September, the number of transported passengers through Skopje and Ohrid airports has increased by 30 percent compared to 2022, with a growth of 19 percent in flights.
