Toshkovski, Bushi and Bojmacaliev meet Austrian Ambassador Pammer

Skopje, 26 February 2024 (MIA) – Caretaker Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski, Deputy Minister Nazim Bushi and additional Deputy Minister Mitko Bojmacaliev met Monday with the Austrian Ambassador to North Macedonia, Martin Pammer, during which Toshkovski acquainted the ambassador with the Ministry’s work in the caretaker Government and its responsibility over the organization of the coming elections, noting that the current leadership of the Ministry is working towards and striving to ensure European, fair and democratic elections, said the Ministry in a press release.

 

According to the Ministry, at the meeting Toshkovski welcomed the understanding that EU member states have over the technical nature of the issue with travel documents, voicing willingness to overcome the issue.

 

Additional Deputy Minister Mitko Bojmacaliev thanked for the current cooperation and reaffirmed the primary task of the caretaker Government – the holding of fair, free and democratic elections.

 

“Ambassador Pammer underscored the current cooperation, which should continue to develop in the future as well. Austria is a great supporter of our European path. Regarding the Macedonian travel documents, the Ambassador said Austria understands the issue and allows Macedonian nationals to fulfill their right to free movement in Austria with the old passports as long as they haven’t expired,” said the MoI.

 

At the end of the meeting, according to the press release, Toshkovski voiced his conviction that cooperation within the already launched projects between the two countries will continue, announcing its further enhancement.
