Speaker Gashi heads delegation in Turkey visit
- A parliamentary delegation led by Speaker Afrim Gashi is paying a visit to Ankara, Turkey, on Wednesday through October 5.
Skopje, 2 October 2024 (MIA) - A parliamentary delegation led by Speaker Afrim Gashi is paying a visit to Ankara, Turkey, on Wednesday through October 5.
The delegation includes the chairperson of the parliamentary group for cooperation with Turkey's Parliament, Bejjan Ilyas, as well as members Nikola Micevski and Merita Kolchi-Kodzadziku, and MPs Oliver Spasovski and Bekim Sali.
On Wednesday, the delegation will meet with the President of The Council of Higher Education (CoHE), Erol Özvar, the Parliament said in a press release.
Thursday's agenda includes meeting with Selim Argun, Vice-President of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, as well as a tête-à-tête meeting between North Macedonia's Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi and Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş, alongside the two delegations.
As part of the visit, Spekaer Gashi is to address a plenary session of the Assembly, meet with President of the Turkish Constitutional Court Kadir Özkaya, as well as with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan. Gashi will also attend a reception with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
On Friday, Speaker Gashi will address students at the Marmara University, and meet with citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia staying in Istanbul.
