Skopje, 4 February 2026 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi addressed the Washington Security Forum on Wednesday as part of his working visit to the U.S. The forum, attended by world leaders and members of the U.S. Congress, focused on global security and the strengthening of the trans-Atlantic cooperation, Parliament said in a press release.

In his address, Gashi noted that North Macedonia remains fully committed to NATO, with the belief that security today is a shared obligation.

“North Macedonia contributes with discipline, it stands side by side with its allies and meets the accepted obligations. We are demonstrating our partnership through our actions,” Gashi said, adding that stable institutions and investments in defense and interoperability are key for collective security when it comes to the Balkans.

Gashi stressed that North Macedonia is a loyal ally of NATO and a stable partner of the United States.
