Skopje, 8 January 2024 (MIA) — A staff member of September 8 General Hospital was stabbed and injured by a patient on Sunday evening, according to law enforcement authorities.

The hospital reported the stabbing at 7:47 pm, police said. 

"D.T. (36) from Skopje, an employee of the hospital, sustained a cut injury after being stabbed with a knife by M.N. (77) from Skopje, a hospital patient," the Ministry of the Interior said.

No further information on the severity of the injury was provided.

According to the police report, the attacker had previously shown aggressive behavior toward another employee of the hospital, as well.

Police were investigating the incident, the Ministry of Interior said. mr/
