Skopje, 6 August 2021 (MIA) – All fires in Skopje were put out after yesterday’s intervention. The Skopje Territorial Firefighting Unit got 29 fire reports, 22 received interventions, and 7 tips were false. “We’ve never had a day like yesterday, never had 22 interventions in under 24 hours. The first tip came around 10 AM, and the last one was at 9:45 PM,” Vladimir Simonovski, commander of the Skopje Territorial Firefighting Unit told MIA. The situation at the defunct OHIS plant is stable, and the fire above Saraj towards “Jasen” has been put out today. Firefighters believe some of the fires were cause by arson. The Territorial Firefighting Unit of Skopje currently has one crew in the Pehchevo-Delchevo region. Simonovski stated that they sent crews wherever help was needed while also ensuring the safety of the citizens of Skopje. dk/ba/
