Siljanovska Davkova meets with Visegrád Group ambassadors

Skopje, 17 July 2024 (MIA) – President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova held Wednesday a working meeting with Visegrád Group countries' ambassadors including Polish Ambassador Krzysztof Grzelczyk, Czech Ambassador Jaroslav Ludva, Slovak Ambassador Henrik Markus, and Hungarian Chargé d΄affaires Krisztina Tihanyi. 


According to an official press release, meeting participants exchanged opinions on the further deepening of friendly ties and cooperation; the process of Macedonian integration into the European Union; and some key political and security challenges facing the EU and the European continent.


"President Siljanovska Davkova stressed that the Visegrád Group countries have always been vocal supporters of our region and promoters of the EU's enlargement policy and thanked them for their solidarity, help and sharing of expert experiences in the European integration process," the release says. 


She also stressed the importance of a fair evaluation of the country's reform progress, based on merit, and the fulfillment of the Copenhagen Criteria in the European integration process, the release adds.


Siljanovska Davkova said the country was ready to implement the best practices of the Visegrád Group and thanked them for the technical assistance in building the national civil society capacities.


According to the release, meeting participants expressed confidence that overall relations would further develop based on friendship, understanding and respect. mr/
