Shahpaska – Dudzak: Labor Ministry's cooperation with UN yielding excellent results
Skopje, 29 October 2021 (MIA) - Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Jagoda Shahpaska on Friday held a working meeting with the UN Resident Coordinator in North Macedonia, Rosana Dudzak. Representatives of some UN agencies also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Shahpaska presented the projects that the ministry had been working on, as well as the priorities for next year, the Labor Ministry said.
She pointed out the significance of the support and cooperation that the UN’s agencies have continuously given to the country in promoting its social policies, as well as in other areas under the jurisdiction of the Ministry.
“The UN’s support in the preparation and implementation of reforms in the area of social and child protection, as well as work relations, means a lot to us as a government and a Ministry of Labor and Social Policy,” Shahpaska said.
Excellent cooperation in meeting the common goals of building a society equal for all is targeting vulnerable categories the most. The positive results from the work so far are a confirmation that we’re on the right track, Shahpaska said.
Praising the cooperation, UN's Dudzak also welcomed Minister Shahpaska’s initiative to continue holding working meetings, where the UN’s agencies are also involved.
Shahpaska pointed out that improving the rights and conditions of disabled people, strengthening their inclusion in society, local social services, gender equality, the institutional fight against violence against women, and domestic abuse, are some of the areas in which the UN’s agencies continue to support the Ministry’s policies.
Over the upcoming period, the Ministry teams and the UN’s agencies will continue working towards defining specific projects which will improve the policies to benefit the people, said the press release. dk/ba/
