Serbian Party of Macedonia joins SDSM’s ‘Coalition for European Future’

Skopje, 29 March 2024 (MIA) – At a meeting Friday, SDSM leader Dimitar Kovachevski and the leader of the Serbian Party of Macedonia, Miroslav Jovanović, formalized the expansion of the “Coalition for European Future” with the Serbian Party of Macedonia, SDSM said in a press release.

According to SDSM, the Coalition for European Future will ensure the fulfillment of the country’s second strategic goal – EU membership, and has a clear plan for a European standard of living and a prosperous and developed country with a functioning democracy, rule of law and social justice.

“The Coalition and its members are fully committed to the European path and strives for a European standard of living for the citizens, economic growth and development through direct and foreign investments, through capital and infrastructure investments and the support of domestic companies, it is also committed to ensuring a dignified life for pensioners as part of the basic postulates of its election campaigns and activities. This pro-European coalition will fully dedicate itself to the reform processes and strive to conclude the country’s negotiations with the EU by 2028 and become a member state by 2030,” the party said.

The coalition consists of SDSM, New Social Democratic Party (NSDP), the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Turkish Movement Party, Pensioners’ Party, Democratic Renewal of Macedonia (DOM), VMRO – People's Party (VMRO-NP), Democratic Union of the Vlachs of Macedonia, Party for Social and Economic Progress (POEN), Roma Alliance of Macedonia, Desnica, Party for the Democratic Prosperity of Roma, Party of Democratic Action of Macedonia (SDA), New Republic Movement, and as of today, the Serbian Party of Macedonia.
