Skopje, 8 June 2023 (MIA) – SDSM spokesperson Bogdanka Kuzeska confirmed at a press conference Thursday, that SDSM leader Dimitar Kovachevski will convene a session of the Central and Executive Board of the party on Friday to discuss the manner and form in which the negotiations with VMRO-DPMNE will continue.
“After yesterday’s meeting we have new circumstances on the political stage and these new circumstances are the occasion for the session of the Executive and Central Board. The topic of the session will be the manner and form in which the negotiations with VMRO-DPMNE will continue,” said Kuzeska.
Kuzeska reiterated that Mickoski and VMRO-DPMNE have de-facto changed their position, saying “they accepted the constitutional amendments and participation in a Government for a European future on the basis of parity, with equal number of ministers.”
“Even the condition for Government without DUI was immediately accepted by DUI, just so they can’t come up with new conditions over and over. On the other hand, the request for a delayed entry into force of the constitutional amendments has also been accepted, i.e., they will enter into force on the day of the second intergovernmental conference. The request for elections, which will be carried out by the joint government, was also accepted. SDSM, as a responsible, state-building party, once again demonstrated its statesmanlike capacity and reaffirmed that the future of the citizens and the interests of the country are its top priority,” assessed Kuzeska.
The SDSM spokesperson added that on the basis of the new circumstances on the political stage, it is necessary for the dialogue to continue.
