SDSM to be more successful in coming election cycles, says leader

Skopje, 4 November 2024 (MIA) - We are ready for elections. We will be more organized and more successful in coming election cycles, said SDSM leader Venko Filipche on Monday when asked about the possibility of snap elections.

Filipche said the fact that early elections are mentioned only a few months after the Government formation is proof that the executive is not performing well.

"Our field survey has shown that 65 percent of citizens are not satisfied from the Government, which means that two out of three citizens are not satisfied from the economic policies, the deteriorating standard of life and the country's European path. This is also a message that Worth It and ZNAM obviously play a marginalized role and have seen their support cut in half," Filipche told a press conference in the Parliament.

According to him, the party is working hard on restoring the trust of their members and supporters, noting that the mood in party offices nationwide has significantly improved.

"What I and my fellow party members have been intensively working on in recent months is to acquire the trust of our members and supporters. There is feedback and a significant improvement of the atmosphere within the party, the enthusiasm is back, many of our members who did not vote or voted for others are coming back. This process is not easy, it needs time, but I believe that the path of consolidation is underway," said Filipche.

He added that the SDSM Congress is slated for November 20, at which the party will elect a new Central Board, which will then produce the Executive Board and the party leadership.
