President Pendarovski receives credentials of new Iranian Ambassador Irvash

Skopje, 23 January 2024 (MIA) - President Stevo Pendarovski received Tuesday the credentials of newly appointed Iranian Ambassador to North Macedonia, Alireza Irvash, based in Sofia.

President Pendarovski said that Ambassador Irvash's appointment confirms the Islamic Republic of Iran's commitment to strengthening ties with North Macedonia, the President's Office said in a press release.

"I sincerely believe that both counties have the potential to cooperate in several areas, and I hope that in the coming period this potential will be used appropriately," Pendarovski said.

Ambassador Irvash noted that since North Macedonia's independence, both countries have been trying to improve bilateral ties in various areas, based on mutual respect and sharing of common interests.

"Existing potentials of both countries, which hold important positions in the Balkans and the region of Persian Gulf and Middle East, provide a great basis for strengthening our cooperation," Irvash stressed. ssh/ik/
