President Pendarovski meets Special Olympics athletes

Skopje, 18 July 2023 (MIA) - Presdient Stevo Pendarovski met on Tuesday with the Special Olympics athletes that participated in the Special Olympics World Games which took place in Berlin and congratulated them on winning one gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
“Underscoring that their results are our national pride, President Pendarovski thanked them for representing their country with pride and dignity. He also voiced support for the activities and engagement of the Macedonian Special Olympics, which, by valuing sports qualities, contributes to inclusion of the individual affinities of persons with disabilities and atypical development,” Pendarovski’s Office said in a press release.
Athlete Agron Hajredini won a gold medal, while Juliana Petrovska was second in the long jump at the Special Olympics World Games. Stefan Trpkovski won a silver medal in the 100-meter backstroke, and Mario Mickovski won a bronze medal in the 100 meter freestyle. Jane Nikodinovski won a bronze medal in badminton.
Berlin welcomed 7,000 Special Olympics athletes and unified partners from approximately 190 countries, who competed in 26 different sports, including judo. Special Olympics of North Macedonia was represented by 19 athletes competing in the sports of swimming, basketball, badminton, athletics and table tennis.
