Skopje, 3 August 2021 (MIA) – President Stevo Pendarovski has ordered the military to mobilize in a bid to tackle natural disasters. The decision was made upon a proposal of the army general staff after analyzing the situation on the ground in different parts of the country affected by ranging wildfires. “The order was issued so as to allow coordinated action of all institutions with the entire army that is deployed to battle blazes in the country. The order starts enforcing immediately,” Pendarovski wrote in social media posts. Also, North Macedonia as of Tuesday morning bans any movement in forests across the country in a bid to prevent wildfires.
