Skopje, 8 August 2022 (MIA) - A fire that has broken out between the village of Furka and the Paljurci dam, located between the municipalities of Dojran and Bogdanci, is still active. Firefighters and members of the staff of forestry enterprises from the southeastern part of the country, namely Gevgelija, Kavadarci, Valandovo and Strumica, have been undertaking coordinated actions since early Monday. Due to rising temperatures, the intensity of the fire and hotspots increased by mid-day, which prompted authorities to ask for air support through the Crisis Management Center. The Interior Ministry has deployed a helicopter alongside an Air Tractor aircraft of the Protection and Rescue Directorate. "Assistance from the Army will be requested if there is a need for additional air support," said the Crisis Management Center.
