PM Kovachevski says he'll read opening statement in Macedonian next week in Brussels
Skopje, 16 July 2022 (MIA) - Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski announced Saturday that he will read the opening statement in Macedonian language at the first intergovernmental session, due to take place this Tuesday (July 19) in Brussels.
"On July 19 in Brussels, I will read the opening statement in Macedonian," he told a news conference.
Asked whether the country will quit the negotiations in case a country disputed the language and identity, Kovachevski said no such situation will occur because the negotiating framework clearly states that the country will begin the negotiations process in Macedonian language.
As regards the protocol, PM Kovachevski said the foreign minister is charged with informing Bulgaria that Parliament voted today the conclusions.
He also announced that the foreign minister later in the day will brief the media regarding the whole process. "The citizens through the media will be informed about both the process and the content," Kovachevski told reporters.
