Pendarovski takes part in North Atlantic Council and partners session
Madrid, 29 June 2022 (MIA)– President Stevo Pendarovski addressed on Wednesday the second session of the meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of Heads of State and Government with Partners, as part of the NATO Summit in Madrid. Pendarovski stressed that in these times of crisis, it is important to show that unity within NATO and cooperation with partners globally is the best play for guaranteeing international peace, his office said in a press release. “In this regard, he added that in addition to the support given to Ukraine, it is important to strengthen partnership and provide support to other partner countries that could face challenges, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova and Georgia,” reads the press release. In addition, Pendarovski applauded NATO’s decision to formally invite Finland and Sweden to join the Alliance. He pointed out that NATO’s Open-Door Policy has served to augment EU enlargement to the benefit of millions in Europe. The President stressed it’s high time to reinvigorate the EU accession process which would contribute to consolidating the stability and prosperity in the Western Balkans region.
