Osmani and Gerapetritis reaffirm commitment to promote cooperation and maintain positive dynamics in relations

Skopje, 5 July 2023 (MIA) – North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani spoke over the phone Wednesday with the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Giorgos Gerapetritis.

Congratulating him on the new appointment, Osmani expressed confidence that the strategic partnership and fruitful cooperation with Greece, based on friendship, mutual trust and understanding, will continue during his mandate, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.

The talks were focused on bilateral cooperation, during which joint commitments to promote close cooperation and maintain positive dynamics in relations and overall exchange were reaffirmed.

“We are grateful to Greece for the firm and principled support for our country's EU accession process,” Osmani said, expressing belief that the support will continue in the coming period, until successful completion of the European integration process.

Ministers discussed current regional and global developments as well as cooperation within the frameworks of the OSCE and South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) chaired by North Macedonia.
