Skopje, 13 October 2023 (MIA) – The number of tourists in August in North Macedonia was 216.872, 52.9 percent of which were domestic and 47.1 percent were foreign tourists, said the State Statistical Office on Friday.

The number of nights spent in August 2023 was 877 138, of which 75.2% are realised by domestic and the other 24.8% are realised by foreign tourists.

In the period January - August 2023, the number of tourists increased by 22.0% compared to the same period last year. During this period, the number of domestic tourists increased by 0.4 percent, while that of foreign tourists grew by 42.4 percent.

In the period January - August 2023, compared to the same period last year, the number of nights spent increased by 9.6%: the number of nights spent by domestic tourists increased by 1.2%, while those by foreign tourists increased by 25.5%.
