Nikoloski – Geer: Government and EU to continue working on reforms, anti-corruption, and rule of law

Skopje, 2 July 2024 (MIA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Aleksandar Nikoloski held a working meeting with the EU Ambassador David Geer on Tuesday. During the meeting, they concluded that the government, in cooperation with the EU, will continue to work diligently on reform processes, anti-corruption efforts, and the rule of law, the Ministry of Transport said in a press release.
“During the meeting, Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski presented the government's programmatic focus and the Ministry of Transport's strategic priorities, with a particular emphasis on infrastructure development. He highlighted the ongoing projects aimed at improving overall infrastructure and the government’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity through the construction and modernization of European corridors. Minister Nikoloski also stressed the critical importance of increasing capacity and utilizing funds from the IPA programs,” as stated in the Ministry of Transport’s press release.
During the meeting, Nikoloski highlighted the crucial role of the European Union’s continuous support in the Euro-integration process as a top priority for the government. He also expressed his gratitude for the EU’s ongoing cooperation and assistance in this vital endeavour.
