Skopje, 13 September 2024 (MIA) - It is time for the European Union to meet us halfway and restore the citizens’ trust in the Euro-integrations, Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani said at the Balkan Integration Forum 2024 (BIF2024) held in Podgorica, Montenegro on Friday.

“Where once there was enthusiasm over the European integrations, now there is dissatisfaction over the European dream. The European Union mustn’t look at Macedonia and the Western Balkans as an illusory goal. It is in the Union’s strategic interest to ensure the Western Balkans don’t lose their interest,” Murtezani said.

The Minister said the Euro-integrations are a “moral imperative, commitment to peace, democracy and the future of the citizens”.

“This process represents an existential choice that reshapes society. I believe that the integration process is a potential tool for transformation,” Murtezani added.
