Motion for Government no-confidence vote to be filed, says Gashi

Motion for Government no-confidence vote to be filed, says Gashi
Skopje, 5 November 2021 (MIA) – We gathered to prove that we have a parliamentary majority. We will file a motion for a Government no-confidence vote, said Alternativa leader Afrim Gashi late on Friday, after VMRO-DPMNE announced that a new parliamentary majority has been formed. “We gathered to prove that we have 61 MPs that are required to file a motion for a Government no-confidence vote. We will see how things develop from now on,” Gashi told Sitel TV upon leaving the Parliament. According to him, a petition for interpellation of the Government circulated earlier today and Alternativa signed it. “Of course we signed it as an opposition party and a coalition. All of us representing the parties sat down this evening and took a photo so that we prove that the required signatures have been collected. This is the only news for the time being. We will see how the process develops and expect to see how other MPs react,” noted Gashi. He added that the no-confidence vote was in the focus of discussions, not Government formation. “This process is taking place for the purpose of the Government interpellation. If the no-confidence vote is confirmed then the process of PM-designate and the type of government ensues. We will then sit again and talk, but let me stress that Alternativa will not be part of a government that abandons the Euro-Atlantic integration process. Our country must continue as NATO member and accelerate the European integration process. We will not take part in a government if a participating party puts forward this requirement,” said Gashi.
