Skopje, 13 September 2023 (MIA) – The digital transformation, public administration reform, corruption, innovations and cooperation were the topics of Wednesday’s meeting between Minister of Information Society and Administration, Azir Aliu, and the Ambassador of Switzerland to North Macedonia, Véronique Hulmann.

According to the Ministry of Information Society and Administration, Aliu and Hulmann spoke about opportunities for cooperation in the development of technology and digitization.

“It was my pleasure to meet with the Swiss Ambassador in Skopje, Véronique Hulmann Marti, with whom we spoke about opportunities for boosting and strengthening the cooperation between our two countries. I informed her about the projects that are being implemented by the Ministry of Information Society and Administration in the digitization sector with the goal of improving the quality of public services for citizens, public administration reforms, and greater institutional transparency,” said Aliu.

Additionally, the Minister and the Ambassador spoke about cooperation opportunities in terms of projects improving the technological infrastructure on the local and central level.

“The close cooperation with Switzerland will help improve the digital transformation in North Macedonia and the coordination of activities on the local and central level in order to achieve the goals in the field, a step that will promote the movement of the citizens and the further development of our country,” said Aliu.

The Ministry stressed that cooperation in digital transformation is a complex challenge, but very important for the progress and improvement of society and economy in the digital era.
