Skopje, 17 April 2026 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Friday the country is not facing any challenges regarding the oil and oil derivatives' supply chain, and has the cheapest fuels in the region.
"The situation with oil and oil derivatives is managed exceptionally well. The country is currently not facing any challenges in the supply chain and we are in continued coordination with suppliers. The state reserves hold sufficient quantities, as does the pipeline that operates between the Thessaloniki port and the Okta refinery," PM Mickoski told reporters.
He said that consumption has also increased due to the fact that many citizens from neighboring states use fuel at gas stations in bordering areas, since diesel prices are lower by EUR 0.6 per liter compared to Greece and EUR 0.3 compared to Serbia.
"In addition, we export kerosene to several neighboring airports, such as the one in Pristina. It is a fact that our citizens use the cheapest fuels in the region and that we have sufficient quantities. We are currently not facing any challenges, but if they emerge, we will immediately adapt and implement a new strategy," said Mickoski.
