Geneva, 21 April 2026 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski, as co-chair of the UNECE Regional Forum on Sustainable Development in Geneva, opened the forum’s plenary session on Tuesday, emphasizing the need to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in the face of increasingly complex global challenges.
In a social media post, Mucunski wrote he stressed that with less than five years remaining until 2030, it is essential to act faster, smarter and together, through concrete and coordinated activities that will bear results.

“I noted that fragmentation limits progress and the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals requires close coordination between institutions, sectors, and states, as well as an integrated approach that links diplomacy, development, and economic policy. I affirmed our commitment to the 2030 Agenda through policies aimed at green transformation, digital development, strengthening of institutions and promoting regional and multilateral cooperation,” Mucunski wrote on his official Facebook page.
The forum in Geneva brought together high-level representatives from member states, the United Nations, international organizations, as well as civil society and the private sector.
