Macedonian songstress Dina Jashari wins Milan Mladenović Award
Skopje, 22 September 2022 (MIA) – Macedonian music artist Dina Jashari, with her song “Doma”, won the 2022 Milan Mladenović Award for best regional song. The prize is awarded by the Milan Mladenović Foundation, named after the legendary Belgrade musician and frontman of the Yugoslav rock band Ekaterina Velika. Dina was chosen as a winner by the regional expert jury, which this year consisted of Mile Kekin (Croatia), Sonja Lonćar (Serbia), Matjaž Mancek (Slovenia), Edo Plovanic (Croatia) and Dragiša Uskoković Ćima (Serbia). This is the first time that the award is received by an artist outside of Serbia. Previous winners of the award, which was established in 2019, include Artan Lili with the song “D.E.P.R.A.”, Dram with “Daj mi sve” and Ana & The Changes with the song “Tu”. With the exception of Mile Kekin, who had duties with his band, the entire jury attended the award ceremony, organized by the Milan Mladenović Foundation, symbolically, on his birthday September 21, in Belgrade. The Milan Mladenović Award was established in order to encourage music creativity, characterized by the distinguishable values of his artistic heritage. It is awarded to the best song on the territory of former Yugoslavia. ad/ba/
