Skopje, 4 June 2024 (MIA) — Levica's parliamentary group has submitted an official request to Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi to have caretaker Prime Minister Talat Xhaferi vacate the office of Member of Parliament in line with the Constitution and a number of other laws, including the Law on Prevention of Corruption and Conflict of Interest.

According to a Levica press release, the party's legal team will also alert the Anti-Corruption Commission to initiate a probe into Xhaferi's potential misdemeanor in keeping the MP post.

If Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi does not put this item on the next session's agenda, Levica will file criminal charges against him and also initiate a no-confidence vote against him, the release says. mr/
