Kovachevski at Atlantic Council: North Macedonia belongs to EU, integration key for better regional competitiveness and economic recovery

Skopje, 8 May 2023 (MIA) – As part of his working visit to Washington, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski met on Monday with the Atlantic Council’s board members.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bujar Osmani, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, several topics such as the progress of North Macedonia's EU accession negotiations, efforts to tackle the energy crisis, the fight against corruption, as well as the country’s OSCE Chairmanship priorities were discussed, the government said in a press release.
"They also shared opinions that implementation of reforms, the rule of law, which accelerates European integration, are key for North Macedonia and the countries of the Western Balkans. It will contribute to the economic recovery, as well as to the long-term improvement of the competitiveness of the country and the region, which will enhance their attractiveness to foreign investors," reads the press release.
