Judicial Council accepts resignations of two members, elects new deputy-chair

Skopje, 8 June 2023 (MIA) - The Judicial Council accepted Thursday the resignations of members Mirjana Radevska-Stefkova and Zoran Gerasimovski.

Supreme Court judge Radevska-Stefkova said the reasons behind her decision were the difference in opinions regarding some of the Council's decisions, the recent dismissal of the former Council chair, a move she labelled as "unlawful", and worsened interpersonal relations that hinder the institution's normal functioning.

Appellate Court judge Gerasimovski also said he came across certain ideological disagreements with some of the Council members, saying he would contribute more as an appellate judge in a time when all courts are overburdened with cases.

Afterwards, the Judicial Council elected Hanif Zendeli as deputy-chair, replacing Selim Ademi in the post.

"I will do my best to contribute in improving the current situation that should befit one of the highest institutions in the country," said Zendeli.
