Skopje, 15 August 2021 (MIA) – Helicopters of the Army and from Montenegro have been engaged in the extinguishing of a wildfire near the village of Raovikj in Saraj municipality. The fire near the villages of Rakle, Nikodin and Toplica in Prilep municipality is also active, with Prilep fire-fighters and forest enterprise employees putting it out. “We expect the Army units, police forces, the forest enterprise and fire-fighters to fully eliminate this fire by the end of the day. Four U.S. and seven French experts using drones for thermal reconnaissance and detection of potential hotspots are also working in the field,” said Crisis Management Center (CMC) Spokesperson Nadica Vchkova. The wildfire near village Gorno Melnichani in Centar Zhupa municipality has been put under control, as is the one near the villages of Barovo and Veshje in Demir Kapija municipality.
