Grkovska – Woutsas: Austrian support for EU integration, good governance – a cornerstone of the process
Skopje, 27 July 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia is beginning its EU accession talks and because of that, all the support and experiences from our friends who are already part of the European family, is welcome, said Deputy Prime Minister for Good Governance Policies Slavica Grkovska at a meeting with Austrian Ambassador Georg Woutsas on Wednesday.
Deputy PM Grkovska expressed her gratitude for Austria’s support of North Macedonia’s EU integration process and for the reform processes. She introduced the ambassador to the focus of her work, namely the digital transformation of society, creation of professional, responsible and accountable functions and the creation of anti-corruption policies.
Ambassador Woutsas emphasized that Austria is a strong supporter of North Macedonia’s EU integration path, and good governance and preventing corruption are the cornerstones of this process. Anti-corruption policies and preventing corruption, he added, are an essential value for the functioning of the entire society.
Woutsas stated that Austria is ready to help the country in building effective and permanent good governance policies.
Grkovska and Woutsas agreed to deepen the mutual cooperation and to organize an exchange of experiences and technical support between the relevant stakeholders from both countries. ad/ba/
