Skopje, 7 March 2022 (MIA) – An analysis and possible new set of measures are in the works before being examined as soon as possible at a government session, the government said late Monday after a meeting of the Economic Council. Chaired by Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, the Economic Council was convened to discuss the current economic situation in the country and the risks and consequences from the Russia-Ukraine crisis affecting the economy. Participants discussed targeted measures with budget support for businesses so as to maintain liquidity and jobs as well as measures designed for vulnerable groups in an effort to cushion the price blow. “Views, suggestions and proposals were shared involving much-needed measures, including state aid, which need to be taken into consideration in policy creation in alleviating the consequences from the deepest crisis in modern history,” said the press release.
