Government extends condolences over death of Queen Elizabeth II
Skopje, 9 September 2022 (MIA) – The Government of North Macedonia has extended condolences over death of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II late on Thursday. “On behalf of the citizens and the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, we extend sincere condolences to the royal family, the people and the government of the United Kingdom on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II," the Government’s press release reads. Queen Elizabeth II was an integral part of modern history and witness to incredible social upheavals and transformations over the past 70 years. Her reign was a witness and a shining beacon to the planetary awareness and transition to democratic systems around the world. “We pay respect and support to our long-time friend, King Charles III, together with the Britain's new Prime Minister Liz Truss, with the hope that the cooperation between the two friendly countries will be even more intense in the coming period,” press release reads. Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, has died Thursday afternoon at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.
