Goran Milevski resigns as government minister
Skopje, 20 September 2022 (MIA) - Minister of Local Self-Government Goran Milevski on Tuesday tendered his resignation letter to the government.
The resignation will be discussed before Parliament is notified, the government told MIA. Parliament should verify the resignation.
Another name will be proposed to be appointed as local self-government minister, according to the procedure.
Milevski's resignation could be verified by Parliament on Thursday if it is sent to the legislative house by then.
Officially, there is no information as to who might succeed Milevski.
He told MIA yesterday that he is resigning for personal reasons.
The Liberal-Democratic Party (LDP), headed by Milevski, is expected to nominate a new candidate by the end of the week. “The party’s MPs will not be nominated,” said Milevski.
Goran Milevski has been LDP’s leader since 2015 and was elected Minister of Local Self-Government on 27 June 2019.
