Skopje, 6 June 2024 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi met Thursday with Bulgarian Ambassador Angel Angelov, discussing the relations between the two countries and possibilities to promote cooperation in all areas, the Parliament said in a press release. 

Ambassador Angelov mentioned the upcoming parliamentary elections in Bulgaria, as well as the elections for the European Parliament. He expressed confidence that the newly elected parliaments in North Macedonia and Bulgaria will establish good and intensive communication, especially through the parliamentary cooperation group. 

Gashi and Angelov agreed that it is necessary to constantly improve the climate of the relations between North Macedonia and Bulgaria, as neighboring countries committed to constant cooperation. 

In addition, the two exchanged views on the cooperation between the two countries within NATO, as well as North Macedonia's EU perspectives in the coming period.
