Skopje, 4 September 2023 (MIA) — To mark Independence Day, the Cinematheque will screen "Honeyland" (2019) by Tamara Kotevska and Ljubomir Stefanov and "The Secret Ingredient" (2017) by Gjorche Stavreski on Sept. 8.

The two highly acclaimed contemporary Macedonian films have won numerous awards, the Cinematheque said in a press release also noting the enthusiastic critical and audience reception.

The release also recalls that Kotevska and Stefanov's documentary won three Sundance awards, and Stavreski had worked on his film for almost a decade, creating a mix of dark comedy and social issue drama that was warmly received at festivals worldwide.
