Skopje, 7 November 2024 (MIA) – The DLUM Association of Artists of Macedonia’s “Drawing, Experimental Drawing” exhibition will open at the Kunst Depot gallery in Venice on Thursday. Organized for the eighth time, the exhibition will run until November 17.
“The exhibition is designed to provide a platform for works that stretch, redefine, and reshape the boundaries of traditional drawing into new expressive forms. It celebrates the bold spirit of artists who dare to disrupt the conventions of the medium, presenting a rich collection of experimental drawings that challenge expectations and invite viewers to explore new possibilities in artistic expression,” the DLUM press release reads.
“In this era of vast communication possibilities, artists are constantly seeking fresh ways of expression. Drawing, with its inherent simplicity and diversity, serves as a fertile ground for experimentation. From the deliberate marks of a pencil to the spontaneous gestures of charcoal, each mark on the blank paper is an opportunity to explore, to ask questions and to use new materials and techniques,” the organizers say.
“We had the special honor of hosting the exhibition "Drawing, Experimental Drawing" this year at the house of the eminent Macedonian artist, painter Borko Lazeski,” reads the press release.
“Experimental Drawing” exhibition is part of DLUM’s program exhibitions and is dedicated to the Macedonia artist Borko Lazeski. It was displayed in his studio, the very place where he created and worked.
The exhibition showcases forty drawings made in different drawing techniques and is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
