Four people connected to M-NAV attack taken to court, including Bekim Neziri

Skopje, 5 January 2024 (MIA) — Four people were taken to the Criminal Court on Friday evening in connection with the Thursday incident at the national air navigation service provider M-NAV premises on Thursday, court sources told MIA.

The prosecution, however, was yet to file charges, the sources said.

In the meantime, Telma TV released footage of the people being taken to the Criminal Court. One of them was Bekim Neziri, advisor to the M-NAV executive director and president of a local DUI branch.

Earlier, according to the Ministry of Interior, several people were being questioned by the police regarding the Thursday break-in and attack on M-NAV staff. On an order from the Primary Public Prosecutor's Office, an official interview was conducted with B.N., the MoI noted.

It also said police were searching for another four people connected with the attack. In addition, it said, police officers would be providing security to the M-NAV building in the foreseeable future.

According to a previous MoI press release, an employee identified by the initials B.N., together with several unindentified persons, had physically attacked P.B., E.K. and B.R., also employees of M-NAV, at their place of work.

The attack happened after the Trade Union of Air Traffic Controllers leader Aleksandar Tasevski's press conference earlier on Thursday.

Tasevski had said that twenty to thirty air traffic controllers and their assistants working for M-NAV would start resigning from their management positions in response to the latest job announcement results and to express their support for the union as well as their disapproval of the management board. mr/
