Skopje, 23 June 2022 (MIA) – The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy upon a request by National Forests Public Enterprise issued an approval on introducing a partial ban on movement in forests and forest areas between 6 am and 8 pm.
The ban takes effect as of Friday given increased risk of outdoor forest fires.
“A partial ban on forest movement will enter into force as of June 24, 2022, and last until risk of forest fires is reduced, i.e. until it is revoked,” National Forests Public Enterprise said in a press release.
It adds that forest movement will only be allowed with a permit issued beforehand.
Fines between EUR 1,500 and 2,000 are in place for non-compliance with the ban.
